Get answers to common questions about Underarms.
Most clients enjoy smooth underarms for three to six weeks, depending on individual hair growth, hormone levels, and care. Regular waxing can slow regrowth and improve texture, extending time between appointments with consistent sessions and proper at-home maintenance.
Sensitivity varies; many describe quick, tolerable stinging that eases immediately. We use expert technique, fast strips, and calming products to minimize discomfort. Consider a mild pain reliever beforehand and avoid caffeine to reduce sensitivity if you’re concerned about pain.
Arrive with clean, dry underarms free of deodorant or lotions. Hair should be about quarter- to half-inch long for effective removal. Avoid shaving for four weeks, exfoliate gently a day or two before, and communicate allergies with your technician.
For best results hair should be roughly ¼ to ½ inch long — about the length of a grain of rice. Too short hair won’t grip; too long can increase discomfort. We can trim slightly if needed during your appointment.
Waxing can sometimes cause ingrown hairs, especially for curly or coarse hair. We recommend gentle exfoliation, soothing serums, and topical treatments to reduce bumps. Avoid picking; schedule follow-up appointments and consult our technician for personalized ingrown prevention advice.
Aftercare includes applying a cool compress, avoiding deodorants and heavy exercise for 24 hours, and using fragrance-free moisturizers. Exfoliate gently after 48–72 hours to prevent ingrowns. Contact us if you experience prolonged redness, swelling, or unusual discomfort.
